For 40 years, New Detroit has been committed to providing high quality education for all students. Recently, New Detroit created the High School Innovation Network comprised of 40 leaders from Detroit’s K-12 public, public charter and private schools, as well as teachers’ unions, parents, businesses, higher education and community-based organizations. Together this team has investigated successful high schools in Detroit and other cities and will now work to implement some of their effective strategies to increase the academic preparedness and graduation rates of Detroit students.

The Friends of New Detroit is a membership group open to all individuals who wish to support the efforts of our organization. Membership is tax-deductible. Friends receive a specially-designed lapel pin, mailings of our newsletter, The Coalition, and invitations to special events held during the year.

New Detroit’s Camp Enterprise 2008 will challenge the minds of Detroit area students who are interested in the business world. Students who will be juniors or seniors in the fall of 2008 and are interested in business, can empower themselves with academic, business and interpersonal skills at New Detroit’s Camp Enterprise.

Participants will spend four intense days at either Michigan State or the University of Michigan, learning from outstanding speakers and like-minded students in a competitive environment. For more information or to download application materials, follow the links below.
