The second New Detroit Youth Leadership Summit on Race was held on October 11, 2008 at the Detroit Marriott Hotel in the Renaissance Center. More than 230 students representing 55 high schools from across the region participated in addressing the summit’s theme of “Racism on the Down Low–Hidden Racism.”

New Detroit’s second Leadership Summit on Race attracted a professionally and racially diverse group of regional leaders who convened in downtown Detroit from October 12-14, 2008. The Summit’s goal was to equip participants to become more effective leaders for racial equity within their own organizations.
